An example of how to answer “why do you want to work here?”
In this example, the applicant is an industrial engineer and is applying to work at an agricultural company that mentions “sustainability” as one of their core values and has initiatives to replenish rainforests in different parts of the world.
“I’d like to work here because I believe the company’s mission to provide sustainable solutions to today’s farming industry is vital for our planet. In my previous job, I was responsible for optimizing power use at our factories across Europe to reduce our impact on the surrounding environment. Together with my team, I reduced carbon emissions by 12% the last year without reducing production. I’ve always felt passionate about finding more sustainable solutions and I know I will bring that passion to this role and help your company make an impact if I get the chance.”

“I remember when I was 15 and I got my first iPhone. It completely transformed my life. It was so intuitive and easy to use and, just, beautiful.
